Cyberpunk 2077 patch fixes PS4, PS5, Xbox bugs, introduces new ones

[ad_1]

More than a month on from it’s long-anticipated and thoroughly disappointing release, the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 are still struggling to fix what was supposed to be the game of the decade, with their latest attempt instead introducing another problem.

CD Projekt Red released the Cyberpunk 1.1 patch over the weekend aimed at bringing “various stability improvements”.

In the lengthy list of changes the company promises fixes for annoying bugs that prevent you progressing in the game, with many of them relating to problems with receiving futuristic “holocalls” from characters to give you new quests.

One of these calls from a character called Takemura in a mission titled Down On The Street had an issue where he simply wouldn’t call, leaving gamers in stasis.

CDPR has slapped a plaster on the gaping wound in the 1.1 patch: Now Takemura does call, he just doesn’t say anything.

CDPR said it’s working on a “hotfix” to solve the new problem but suggested a “potential workaround” in the meantime.

The workaround requires you having a game save from earlier on in the plot – but even if you do, it doesn’t inspire much confidence.

CDPR said frustrated gamers should try reloading an earlier save game and then jumping through a precise set of hoops to “see if” the fix works.

You have to load up your old game at a point before Takemura and your character go to meet a character named Wakako in their office, immediately finish the conversation with Takemura after you leave, and then straight after the quest is updated, skip forward 23 hours, where you can “see if the holocall triggers and the dialogue with Takemura starts”.

If that sounds a bit too complicated you can wait for CDPR to deliver the hotfix and “see if” that fixes it.
