Jeff Bezos, the former Amazon CEO and founder of Blue Origin, is reportedly engaged to his girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez. The couple’s relationship became public in 2019 following Bezos’ high-profile divorce from his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie Bezos. MacKenzie famously donated a significant portion of her $37 billion divorce settlement, which inspired the premise of Apple TV+’s show “Loot.”
According to reports, Bezos proposed to Sanchez while they were sailing on his new $500 million super-yacht in the Mediterranean. The yacht reportedly features a tribute to Sanchez on its bow. The couple was recently in the south of France for the Cannes Film Festival, where they attended the premiere of Martin Scorsese’s film “Killers of the Flower Moon.”
Neither Bezos’ Blue Origin nor Sanchez’s Black Ops Aviation immediately responded to requests for comment. However, multiple sources, including Page Six, TMZ, and CNN, have confirmed the engagement without providing further details about their upcoming wedding.
Bezos and Sanchez have four children from their previous marriages. They announced their divorce in 2019, shortly before the National Enquirer published an exposé about their relationship. Sanchez was previously married to Patrick Whitesell for 13 years and has two children with him. She also has a son from her previous relationship with former NFL tight end Tony Gonzalez.
Although the couple has generally kept their relationship private, they have been photographed together at various high-profile events and while traveling. Last week, Sanchez was seen wearing a large diamond ring on her left hand, fueling engagement rumors.
Bezos and Sanchez opened up about their relationship in a joint TV interview on CNN last year. Bezos described Sanchez as a generous and big-hearted person, calling her an inspiration. Sanchez reciprocated the sentiment, stating that Bezos makes her a better person and is the most loving human she knows. She also posted a tribute to Bezos on Instagram on his 59th birthday, expressing her love for him.
