Powerball has soared to an incredible $80 million for next Thursday’s draw.
Lauren Cooney, The Lott spokeswoman, said the last $80 million Powerball jackpot was snagged by a Victorian couple who took out the entire division one prize pool.
“It took the Dromana couple four days to check their ticket and discover they were the mystery multi-millionaires we’d been searching for,” she said.
“It was the biggest lottery prize to ever land in Victoria and the couple said it gave them an enormous sense of freedom and peace of mind.
“We are expecting up to one in four Australian adults to have an entry into next week’s $80 million Powerball draw, so make sure you get in early to avoid the late rush.
“If you want to find out immediately if you’re a division one winner, register your entry so we can give you a call straight after the draw to break that life-changing news.”
Up to one in six Australian adults were expected to have an entry in Powerball’s $50 million lotto draw on Thursday.
However, no one won the top prize, meaning the money has jackpotted to the next draw. There have been four top Powerball prizes this year.
The winning numbers in Thursday’s draw are: 17, 1, 24, 12, 5, 9, 19. The Powerball is 3.
Six division two winners took home a prize of $120,658.25 each, while 100 division three winners pocketed $4,424.15 apiece.
“So far this year, Powerball has welcomed four division one winners – two from Queensland and two from New South Wales,” said Lauren Cooney, The Lott spokeswoman.
“Together, these fab four have pocketed $120 million.
“This is the third time in two months Powerball has offered a $50 million prize. On the last two occasions, the $50 million jackpot was won by a single entry.
“Imagine how your plans for the rest of 2021 and the rest of your life could change if you took home a life-changing $50 million.”

Research from The Lott shows Aussies have already begun contemplating how much they’d love to win, what would bring them the most happiness, and how their lives might change should they score a lottery prize.
More than a third of Aussie players declared a $1 million lottery prize would be enough for them to realise their dreams, while another 36 per cent raised the bar and said a $5 million prize would do the trick.
Just over a quarter confessed their ideal lottery win would need to be at least $10 million, with 4 per cent of these sharing their dreams had a price tag of $50 million and above.
It seems Aussies remain a generous bunch with almost three-quarters confirming sharing their winnings with family and friends would bring them the most happiness.
About a third said being able to donate to charity would also bring them joy.
While international travel has been off the cards recently, Aussies’ wanderlust remains strong. Travelling and spending more time with family and friends were the top two lifestyle changes wannabe division one winners wanted to make.
