Popular coast mansion with its own nightclub seeks new owner

[ad_1]

A lavish hinterland mansion with its own nightclub, which has just failed to sell at auction, is now up for grabs for anyone looking to host the ultimate house party.

The house, one of the largest on the Gold Coast, was first listed in February 2020 but after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, has struggled to find a buyer.

Put up for auction Wednesday, ahead of a bumper auction weekend for Queensland, the nine-bedroom mansion at 156 Tallai Road, Tallai, is still waiting to find a new owner.

Selling agent Pascal Pierre of LJ Hooker Solutions – Hope Island said the property passed in at $6.8m but is now open to offers above that price.

“There were interested parties but they weren’t in a position to do anything unconditional,” Mr Pierre said.

He said negotiations with those parties were now under way.

RP Data shows the seller bought the property on a 8,888sq m block for $5.8m in August 2011 from Gold Coast developer Graeme Ingles, who originally owned and built the home.

Construction on the four-storey monolith began in 2004 and wasn’t completed until 2008.

Mr Ingles maintained the property until 2011 when, according to past news reports, a forced sale led him to put it on the market with an ambitious price tag of $15m.

At the time of build the property pulled in a string of awards, including the Master Builders

Gold Coast Home of the Year, best Individual Home over $5 million and Australian Bathroom Project of the Year for its $200,000 turquoise bathroom.

More recently it was one of the country’s most viewed homes on listings website realestate.com.au.

It’s not hard to see why. The four-storey house has a unique nightclub wing with a wet bar, karaoke stage, dance floor and state of the art sound system for hosting mega parties, as well as a purpose built 16-seat cinema.

There is also a study, large games room, gym and 1500-bottle purpose-built wine cellar, along with six bedrooms, including a master bedroom that has a roof that opens to the sky.

A steel and glass lift connects the basement carpark, which can accommodate six cars, with the top floor, while a pool and spa at the side of the house have been tiled using Italian mosaics, with an intricate fish pattern.

The current owner added a second separate dwelling to the already massive mansion in 2014.
