For car enthusiasts or anyone obsessed with supercars, get excited because Automobili Lamborghini has partnered with Master & Dynamic to create a range of premium headphones and earphones.
This week I got my hands on the black and yellow colourway of the MW65 Active Noise-Cancelling Wireless Headphones.
These are the most expensive headphones I’ve ever had the pleasure of trialling, retailing for a whopping $843. So, besides the Lamborghini insignia, I was very curious about what would set these headphones apart from others.

Turns out a lot of the difference is the premium materials they’re crafted with. Internally, to aid in high sound quality, they have 40mm beryllium drivers, which helps to lower distortion and gives higher frequency sound propagation, bringing out balanced audio.
It’s fairly expensive to include beryllium drivers in headphones so not many headphone brands use these, which is why it’s nice to have this addition.
Externally the headphones are made out of alcantara which, if you don’t know, is a luxury Italian material that feels similar to suede (although it is synthetic and not made from animal products). This changed my perceptions of the headphones entirely, making them quite unique. What’s awesome is that, as supercar fans would know, alcantara is widely used in Lamborghini interiors and luxury cars.

In this case, obviously, I had to go the extra kilometre for this review and smell the headphones. C’mon, one of the best things about a new or expensive car is the ‘new car smell’, right?
Well, the material doesn’t reek so I had to get in nice and close – the verdict – they do smell like an expensive car. Very pleasant. Although I wouldn’t recommend publicly smelling your headphones, or offering up a showy sniff to your mates. That would probably take away from the cool factor.
As for comfort, the ear cups are super plush and feel as though they’re filled with gentle memory foam and the suede-like feel on top of your ears is something else! Super soft.
The cans are a bit of a tight fit on my head creating some pressure around my noggin, but it seems as though this may lessen over time as the material adapts to the size of my head.
Knowing Master & Dynamic build beautifully crafted audio products with high quality materials and often collaborate with luxury brands, I’m pleased to say that they have done a fantastic job with the sound quality. They have a well-balanced and warm sound. Everything seems just right with plenty of depth and nuances you wouldn’t get with cheap headphones.
They also have up to 24 hours of battery life, with an included cable to extend your listening time and two modes of active noise cancelling (low and high) which does an impressive job.
They’re available in three colourways – silver metal/light grey/yellow alcantara, black/metal black/yellow alcantara and black metal/black/grey alcantara and they’re available to purchase from Lamborghini’s official website.
Personally, I have a hard time spending anything over $500 for premium headphones but as luxury-branded headphones I think they’ve done well here to make these feel expensive.
I think any supercar fan would feel incredibly spoiled with these. However, for those wanting to spend a little less you could also check out the Lamborghini-inspired MW07 PLUS True Wireless Earphones for $548.
