The “healthy” eastern brown snake, one of the world’s most deadly venomous snakes, was found at the house in Reesville in the Sunshine Coast last week.
Stu from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 said the massive reptile had been trying to coil itself into the door frame, and had to be retrieved by a wrangler.

“Imagine walking up to your sliding door to head outside when you stumble across this healthy Eastern Brown Snake,” snake catcher Stu McKenzie wrote on Facebook.
“It was enjoying itself hiding in between the sliding doors. The snake was so thick that it only just got in there when it was coiled back on itself.”
He said the snake was successfully caught and safely relocated.
The post went viral, attracting more than 2600 reactions and more than 500 comments.
Commenters from overseas were horrified, saying they were glad they didn’t have to put up with Aussie wildlife.
“So glad that I live in a frozen part of Canada where there are no poisonous snakes,” one man wrote.
“Really glad I live in the UK. I’d be petrified of going outdoors,” a woman said.
Even some locals weren’t keen on the idea of a massive, friendly brown snake, urging the homeowners to sell up.
“Bloody hell that’s a monster,” one woman wrote.
“Time to sell the house,” one man wrote.
“Burn the house down,” another joked.
“I’m sorry but some of these snakes need to go way far away from the house and move on,” another wrote.
