Police have released images of a man accused of masturbating on public buses across multiple transport routes in inner Sydney.
The man performed the lewd acts in front of passengers while travelling on buses in February, police said.
An initial incident was reported on February 5, after a passenger travelling on a bus between Enmore and Redfern allegedly witnessed the man touch himself, before getting off on Cleveland Street, Redfern.
The man is described as being of caucasian appearance, aged in his 60s, of thin build, with greying black hair and a grey beard.
Investigators later established the incident was linked to other sex acts allegedly committed on buses since February, These included on February 11 when the man boarded the bus at King Street, Newtown, and got off at Castlereagh Street near Liverpool Street, in the CBD. Later that day, he boarded the bus again at King Street, Newtown, and got off at George Street, near Central Station.
Police said a third incident occurred on March 15 when the man boarded the bus near Museum Railway Station and got off at Parramatta Road near Buckland Street, Broadway.
Detectives have released CCTV images of the man they believe may be able to help with their inquiries.
He is shown wearing either an orange or lime green T-shirt, brown pants, and white or blue shoes. He wears a red patterned hat with the graphic “AUS” written on it and a white face mask.
