We’re giving him the benefit of the doubt because he’s as good as it gets behind the microphone, but Anthony Hudson was trending on Sunday evening after footy fans thought he dropped an F-bomb.
Hudson was commentating the Fremantle-Hawthorn game for Fox Footy and had the call as Dockers big man Sean Darcy slotted a fourth quarter major to put the game out of the Hawks’ reach.

You can listen to the moment in the video player above but as the ball sailed through the goalposts some believed Hudson said: “F*** … a big blow.”
Others heard “thud” and the lack of reaction from anyone else in the commentary box was perhaps a telltale sign everything was above board.
It brought back memories of Brian Taylor’s call of Tom Boyd’s long-range goal in the Bulldogs’ 2016 grand final win against Sydney.
“Buddy tackled by Morris, dropping the ball. Boyd took the advantage and played on, from inside the centre square,” Taylor said on Triple M. “Boyd’s kicked a goal! Boyd’s kicked a goal! From inside the centre square … F***!”
Ever the colourful commentator, Taylor had another interesting moment midway through the Demons-Cats game on Sunday when he attempted to explain how a tightly-contested game was about explode.
“It feels like this is a bag of sand hanging in the sky and it’s going to be split wide open very, very shortly,” Taylor said. “It’s going to spill everywhere.”
