Aussie leaves furious note in Brisbane disabled car park

[ad_1]

It’s safe to say that as Aussies, we have a bit of an, ahem, international reputation when it comes to our insults.

Which is why it’s understandable that an angry note left on a car parked in a disabled spot in Brisbane had such an impact after an American expat spotted it and posted it to TikTok.

Originally from the United States but now living in Australia, @mikeysuss shared the video of the note after stumbling across it on a car parked in a spot reserved for disabled drivers.

“You know you’re in Australia when,” he said, before dissolving into laughter at the “really funny” note.

With extra emphasis on the four-letter insult, the note read: “Stop being a total c**t by parking in the disabled parking.”

The video has since attracted more than 20,000 views as well as a hilarious reaction from viewers who praised it as the perfect use of the very Aussie swear word.

“They artistically done the word c**t too,” one person commented.

“The artistry, the calligraphy, a true inspiration,” another person joked.

While the use of the four-letter insult might seem extreme to non-Aussies, those in the comments agreed it was perfectly justified given the circumstance.

“I mean you are a totally C U Next Tuesday if you do park in the disabled parking without any permits,” one person wrote.

“I’m a support working in the disability sector. People do this so often … it sh*ts me to tears. Who ever put the sign up on the car, I applaud you!!!” another commented.

‘HOW IGNORANT’: MOTORCYCLE SLAMMED FOR BUNNINGS PARK

It’s not the first time a driver parking in a space reserved for those with a disability has sparked outcry on social media.

In a post shared in the Australian Disability Parking Wall of Shame Facebook group last November, one man wrote how he had busted a motorcyclist parking in a section between two disabled parking spots.

The picture showed how the bike had been parked on a hatched area with yellow lines and a pole in the carpark of the Bunnings in the Geelong region, in Victoria.

“He explained to me that motor bikes can park anywhere, even on foot paths. Besides there is no sign saying NO BIKE PARKING,” the man captioned the post.

“I tried to explain to him how ignorant he was, but it fell on deaf ears.”

The post soon got dozens of comments from people who blasted the motorcyclist’s decision to park in the space that had been reserved so disabled people using the adjoining spaces can enter and exit their car safely.

“The motorbike can’t park wherever they want,” one person wrote. “They just think they own the roads and the rules and they don’t have common sense.”

But others disagreed with the harsh assessment, pointing out that rules for where motorcyclists can park weren’t always clear.
According to Vic Roads motorcycles can be parked on footpaths, however they cannot block access to parked cars or pedestrians.
