$30 vouchers to spend in CBD

[ad_1]

Businesses in the Adelaide CBD are hoping for a much needed sales boost as a plan to entice more people back into the city with $30 “long lunch” vouchers gets underway.

South Australians can enter a draw to win one of 5000 vouchers to spend on lunch or an experience in the CBD or North Adelaide.

It is part of a $150,000 economic stimulus package to help hospitality and tourism businesses recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA), which was recently established to help stimulate the local economy, is running the Adelaide’s Long Lunch promotion.

Hopeful winners can register and enter the ballot system from Monday February 15 until 11.59pm on February 24.

Successful applicants will be emailed their voucher on February 26 and can redeem them at participating operators from March 1 until April 30.

AEDA Chair Nikki Govan said the campaign would allow for more people to make a day out of visiting the city.

“Lunch is a time that businesses in the city have been hurting the most with so many city workers still based at home,” she said.

“By providing an incentive to visit the city, we’ll put $150,000 straight into the hospitality and tourism operators while also driving that all-important secondary spend.

“We encourage all South Australians to register for the ballot and start planning their day out.”

Vouchers used in restaurants, cafes and pubs can only be used on food but drinks can be paid for separately.

Some of the participating businesses include 2KW Bar & Restaurant, BBQ Buoys, the National Wine Centre of Australia and Chianti.
