Two Sunshine Coast housemates who woke up to find a strange man touching them in their respective beds have told how he immediately said, “I f**ked up.”
A woman in her 20s, who lives on Karome Street in Pacific Paradise, woke in the middle of the night on February 17 to find an unknown man kneeling beside her bed and touching her “inappropriately”.
Speaking to 7 NEWS, she said she felt a “crawling sensation” down her neck that she thought was a spider or that she was dreaming.
“I flicked the light switch on and he was kneeling beside my bed with his pants half down, and he quoted, ‘I f**ked up’,” she said.
The landlord changed the locks, but the offender came back two weeks later through a fly screen and targeted another woman living at the home.
The second woman said she had woken on Sunday to find the same man standing over her bed.
“I was laying on my back and I’ve woken up to him touching me very inappropriately,” she told 7 NEWS.
“I didn’t want to make any sudden movements or for him to know that I was awake … I didn’t know if I could reach and hit him with something.
“(When I screamed) he didn’t look shocked at all … He just stared at me, then turned and sprinted.”
He ran out the front door, which police believe he had already unlocked.
While the women are adamant they are “definitely not scared of him” and wouldn’t be forced out of their home, police fear there is a risk of escalating behaviour.
“I think the incident on Sunday night particularly was an indication to me (of some escalating behaviour),” Detective Senior Sergeant Daren Edwards said.
“We need to identify that male as soon as possible.”
He said he believed the man lived in the area and feared he would strike again.
The man is described as caucasian, about 183cm tall, aged in his 20s with ear-length curly brown hair.
