A high-level bikie will be sent to Sydney to face court after NSW Police successfully applied to have him extradited from Victoria.
The application to extradite Comanchero national sergeant-at-arms Tarek Zahed was granted in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
NSW Police put out a call to find Mr Zahed last month so that they could revoke his parole.
It said the 40-year-old was known to frequent the inner west, Homebush and Kings Cross area.
He was then arrested in Melbourne in the southwest suburb of Altona North about 2pm on Friday.
It is understood he had been staying in the suburb of Point Cook while hiding out in Victoria.
A Victoria Police spokesman said police received information Mr Zahed had travelled to Victoria despite the warrant out for him in NSW.
“Detectives from the Echo Taskforce, Australian Federal Police national anti-gangs squad and NSW Police arrested a man on Friday as part of a joint operation,” he said.
“The national sergeant-at-arms of the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang was wanted by police in NSW in relation to a breach of parole.”
Mr Zahed was remanded in custody before the application for extradition was heard on Monday.
