Killing dead space in your home should be at the top of your to-do list, now that summer is coming to an end.
That’s the opinion of one of Australia’s most popular garden experts, Melissa King, from Channel 7’s Better Homes and Gardens, with a majority of Aussies looking for the best way to improve their homes.
With life in something of a holding pattern due to COVID-19 restrictions, online tradie platform hipages said the demand for tradies had doubled based on year-on-year figures.
Builders and real estate agents also said they can’t keep up with the clamour for the newest must-have status symbol: a cool pool.
“It’s been amazing to watch for me in the industry to see people embrace the home and garden like they have,” Ms King said.
“You want to make the most of your pool all year round with heating options … and also look at integrating them seamlessly into the landscape.
“People want their houses to be much more than a home, they want it to be a haven and a retreat.
“And this is about making the most of those areas you don’t make the most of, or simply don’t use.
“Including garden areas, those small courtyard areas. It will change the way you enjoy your garden and your home.”
