There’s confusion today over the status of Kylie Minogue’s relationship with boyfriend of three years, Paul Solomons.
Minogue herself has denied widespread rumours she’s engaged – but Solomons’ own stepmother has contradicted her, saying she’s “thrilled” her son is engaged to the Aussie pop icon.

Minogue, 52, has been in a relationship with British GQ creative director Solomons, 46, since 2018. Rumours began to swirl that the low-key pair had taken their relationship to the next level when actress Billie Piper appeared to let it slip in a recent column penned for Elle Magazine.
In the column, Piper wrote about a chance encounter with Solomons some 21 years ago, when she was unwell in a club and he carried her out.

“Later, I’d find out his name is Paul, like my dad. He’s Welsh, works at GQ and will, in time, become a dear friend, a blinding success and Kylie Minogue’s fiance,” she wrote.
Whoops. Probably not how Minogue intended to announce her engagement.
Further confirmation appeared to come from Solomons’ stepmother Gloria, who had this to say when contacted by the Daily Mail: “She’s very nice. I’m thrilled they’re engaged. It’s very exciting. But, I’m sorry, I cannot tell you any more because I’ve been told not to. I respect my son and I respect Kylie too much to say any more.”
That’s confirmation from two separate sources close to the couple – but now, Minogue‘s representatives have denied the engagement claims to The Sun: “It’s not true. They are happy as they are,” they said.
KYLIE’S FORMER ROMANCES
Kylie’s three-year romance with Solomons comes after a string of high-profile relationships for the singer, who recently scored yet another number one album with Disco.
She dated Australian actor Joshua Sasse from 2015 to 2017 in what was perhaps her most public relationship to date: He appeared on stage at her concerts, in one of her music videos (which has since been scrubbed from her YouTube channel) and they presented an award together onstage at the ARIAs. Sasse, 33, revealed the pair were engaged at the 2016 NME Awards, but they split the following year.
Before that, Kylie dated Spanish model Andres Velencoso, 42, from 2008 to 2013 and French actor Olivier Martinez, 55, from 2003 to 2007. Martinez was by Minogue’s side as a source of support during her 2005 cancer diagnosis.
Earlier boyfriends include Neighbours co-star Jason Donovan (1984-89), INXS frontman Michael Hutchence (1989-91) and a doomed three-year stint with actor James Gooding in the early noughties. He later sold his story to the press and admitted to cheating on Kylie multiple times.
Minogue, who has been back on home soil for the past month after quietly seeing out a 14-day hotel quarantine, has kept largely tight-lipped about her current partner. “I’ve met someone who I feel good with. It feels right,” she said in 2018.
